Aina Jane is an abstract painter who transforms her experiences and emotions into visual work. She works from a semi daydreaming state, sometimes with an idea and sometimes just beginning with color and texture. Often Aina uses a neutral palette, metallics, and little pops of color to add excitement. The play of color and texture throughout her painting encourages the viewer to use their own experiences to connect with the art.
Growing up in rural Minnesota, Aina had an early fascination with creating, and used various materials that sparked her interest. Being from a family interested in art there was plenty of raw material available. Because the atmosphere was busy and at times chaotic, Aina’s art became a way to process and make sense of her environment.
Aina’s work is primarily abstract but at times portrays scenes from her travels. Traveling to both coasts and living for a time in Arizona, her work has been influenced by these places. Aina started selling her paintings when she was in high school and is now exhibits her work in her home town of Dassel, Minnesota and various venues in the Mpls/St. Paul area.
